Field Notebook:
It was Thursday, September 28. I arrived at 4:40, and left at 5:00. Around 70 degrees outside, very sunny, almost no cloud coverage. It was an 11 hour and 51 minute day today. The leaves are beginning to change, about 1/8 leaves are of changed color. I saw a bug that I later identified to be a burrowing beetle. It was easy to spot on the sand because of its red coloring. I found it on a dying plant growing in the sand.

  1. Is it possibly a milkweed bug? Are you noticing any pattern in the color change? Any other bugs? tracks? Changes?
